This short film features about 2500 corporate logos twining throughout several plot lines.  Last night it won the Academy Award for Short Film (Animated).  

Said the winner, “Good evening. It doesn’t look like, but it’s a French film. Sorry about the accent. I’m the producer of the film, so I have to thank the 3,000 non-official sponsors that appear in the film. And I have to assure them that no logos were harmed in the making of the project.” — A.M.

This is a great documentary all about the creation of the London Underground map system. This map has become the basis for just about every mass transportation map system ever since.

Its a fascinating watch.

On the topic of universal wisdom, if you haven’t seen this yet, i would like to share this 10 min. excerpt from a lecture that my family and friends have been passing around for a while… A Carnegie Mellon professor, Randy Pausch, was asked to give a “last lecture,” but he didn’t have to imagine it as his last because he had been diagnosed with terminal cancer. The lecture wasn’t about dying, but rather the importance of overcoming obstacles, enabling the dreams of others, seizing every moment, and approaching challenges with creative solutions. This was the legacy he would leave his three small children. Although he speaks of ideas that are not new to anyone, it is a jarring reminder, coming from someone who will die soon, that we need to get some perspective and stop being so uptight about such insignificant things- in the grand scheme of your life experiences.  Hondo ipod

Artists catch head lice for show

8 Mile movie download Seven German artists are living with lice in their hair in an Israeli museum for three weeks in the name of art.

The Berliners aim to stretch boundaries of what is art, saying they are toying with ideas about hosts and guests in line with a theme set by the museum.

“The idea is that we live in the museum as their guests, and at the same time we are hosting lice on our heads,” said artist Vincent Grunwald, 23.
